SALIENT
FEATURES OF THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR
APPOINTMENT
TO THE POST OF SECURITY GUARDS.

Directorate
of Construction, Services & Estate Management initiated recruitment
process for appointment to fill up 86 posts (current vacancies + anticipated
vacancies) of Security Guards for DCSEM, BARC and other units of DAE and
released an Advertisement No.DCSEM/01/2010. |

Nominations
were called for from Regional Employment Exchange and also from Zilla Sainik Board in terms of
the extant rules. |

In
all 38,937 applications were received before the due date. The applications were screened by appropriate means (based on
software system and manual methods).
After screening , 32381 applicants were found
meeting the norms prescribed in the advertisement. |

Since
the number of screened in candidates were substantially large, it was decided
to raise the percentage of marks scored in the SSC examination (Xth Std.) to 70% for General/OBC candidates and 68% for
SC/ST candidates as prescribed in the advertisement. It was also decided to call all the
candidates nominated by Zilla Sainik
Board. Accordingly 1823 candidates
were called for undergoing selection process ie.
Physical test/ Written test/ Interview. |

Out
of 1823 candidates called , 778 attended the
physical test. The physical tests were
conducted on February 14,15,17,18 & 19, 2011. 586 Candidates were successful in the
physical test. |

The
candidates, who were successful in the physical test (586), were required to
attend the written examination on 20.02.2011 and out of the 586 candidates,
571 candidates were present for the written examination (15 candidates were
absent) The written examination was of
objective in nature and comprised of comprehension, general awareness and
basic maths for a total marks of 75. |

It
has been decided to adopt following cut off marks in the written
examination to choose the number of candidates required to undergo interview. Category Percentage

The
personal interview of the 351 candidates were held 3 days from February 21,
22 & 23, 2011 by the duly constituted
Selection Committees consisting of representatives from SC, ST,
minority and female categories. |

Of
the 351 candidates required to undergo the personal interview, only 314
appeared for interview |
|
|
10) |

Committees consisting of representatives from SC/ST/minority/female
interviewed 314 candidates during February 21, 22 & 23, 2011 and drawn a
select panel and a wait-list panel of candidates. The criteria adopted for preparation of
the panels was : SELECT PANEL Category Marks Obtained General 55 marks and above OBC 49 marks and above SC 62
